The Reef - A Grand Cayman Beach Resort

People love Grand Cayman vacations because of the island’s exquisite beaches. Our islands are world-renowned for their picture perfect beaches – swaying palm trees, sugar-white sand and the azure blue Caribbean Sea.

The Reef Resort stands out on Grand Cayman Island as the only resort with all beachfront suites. Each room has sweeping sea views along our 1,600-foot stretch of private beach – the longest of any Grand Cayman Beach resort.

And we’re located on the island’s east end away from the crowds, so you’ll enjoy a serene tropical beach escape.

Grand Cayman Vacation Beach Activities

There are plenty of beach activities around The Reef. Start with simply lazing around our 1600 foot beach front with its two swimming areas, three freshwater pools, or play beach volleyball and tennis.

Of course, diving, snorkeling and fishing are excellent around Grand Cayman Island and our guests go on dive trips with Ocean Frontiers, as well as snorkeling off our beach or on tours to Sting Ray City.

The Caribbean Sea around our Grand Cayman beach resort is always clear and warm. Visibility is often 100 to 150 feet with little current, and water temperature ranges from 78°F to 80° in winter and 82°F to 86° in summer.

Other Island Beaches

If you’d like to explore other island beaches during your Grand Cayman vacation, there is a wide variety to choose from, starting with world-famous Seven Mile Beach.

Seven Mile Beach is the most popular and populated beach on Grand Cayman. Located on the west side, north of George Town, it is bustling with resorts, bars, hotels, restaurants of all flavors, a fish market, beach volleyball, cinemas, golf courses, mini-golf, and much more. The beach also has family-oriented playgrounds, free clean washrooms, parking and picnic areas away from crowds.

Smith's Cove is a protected cove south of George Town that is great for snorkeling.

On the island’s north side, Cayman Kai is a secluded beach good for snorkeling, swimming and beachcombing. Rum Point is a popular sports beach with volleyball, windsurfing, parasailing and snorkeling. Water Cay is close to Rum Point and is a quiet beach good for strolling and picnicking.
