Dining at The Reef
Jewels of The Reef
The picturesque vistas of the Cayman Islands coupled with the legendary tales of the ‘Wrecks of the Barrier Reef’ off East End’s breath-taking coastline are the perfect setting for Castaways’ Restaurant & The Hideaway Beach Bar, the epicurean hubs of The Reef Resort.
As one of the Reef’s crown jewels, The Hideaway Beach Bar, underwent an extensive redesign for 2007, which has made its facets shine ever brighter. Today, The Hideaway is similar in size to its previous incarnation with an outdoor patio surrounded by tiki torches and the sound of the ocean lapping on the beach, complemented by the wonderful beat of Caribbean and Latin music, an intricate & ubiquitous part of the atmosphere.
The patio area of The Hideaway has been extended to provide more dining comfort for our guests. With the addition of ambient lighting and additional patio seating, the atmosphere is ideal for alfresco dining with family and friends. Another wonderful addition to the beach bar area are several palapas located within steps of both the bar and the ocean, where one can wind down on a comfy lounger, in the shade, with one of our refreshing cocktails served directly to you by one of our fun and friendly beach bar staff. Aaaahhhh!
At The Hideaway Beach Bar you will find excellent elixirs such as the famous Cuban Mojitos and delicious Hemingway-style tutti frutti daiquiris as well as decadent banana mudslides, just to name a few. Not familiar with these drinks, see our tropical drinks menu to pick out your favourites before arrival.
The Hideaway’s new Beach Bar Menu has recently been unveiled by Chef Idris. Whether it’s the awesome Conch Fritters, Mahi Mahi on Ciabatta bread or the Fresh Catch of the Day, guests will be enjoy discovering the amazing array of mouth-watering cuisine designed to offer something to suit every palate.
Castaways Restaurant’s seascape is the epitome of a tropical paradise with a superb lookout onto the East End Barrier Reef – after sunset brings fine dining under the Caribbean stars with soft trade winds that hail from across the Caribbean Sea, a little slice of heaven.
Happy dining!
